Our Story:

Hey there,
I am just your average weekend golfer from Timber Pines, Florida.
Like most of us, I've spent years hacking it around, battling the occasional yips, getting frustrated on the course, and having those random moments where everything suddenly clicks. Nothing special — no tour card, no fancy certifications, just someone who loves the game and keeps trying to enjoy it more.
I learned golf back in 2006-2007 from my husband, Larry, who has played since he was a young man. He’s been my patient (and sometimes not-so-patient) guide through the ups and downs of this game, and a lot of what I’ve learned started on the course with him.
I started Mental Golf Solutions because I got tired of all the serious, expert-sounding advice out there. Instead, I wanted a simple place where regular amateur golfers could share real experiences, swap ideas that actually worked (or didn't), and have a few laughs along the way.
You'll find posts here about the mental side of golf — the stuff that happens between the ears — but also plenty of lighter topics: funny golf stories, cross-training ideas for us older players, gear that surprised me, and random things that relate to our golf life even if they're not strictly "on the course."
This isn't a coaching site.
I'm not here to position myself as an authority. I'm just another hacker sharing what I've tried, what helped me, and what resources I’ve found useful. If something works for you too — great! If not, no hard feelings.
My hope is simple:
- That you find at least a few ideas worth trying
- That you enjoy the read
- And that you feel comfortable enough to share your own stories or tips
Got a golf experience (good, bad, or hilarious)? A tip that helped your game? Or even a non-golf story that somehow ties into our crazy obsession with this game?
I'd love to hear from you. Feel free to reach out — I read every message.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now let’s go enjoy this frustrating, wonderful game a little more.
— Vasey (An average golfer, still chasing that next good round)
